IN A BROKEN MIRROR
Height: 5’7’’
Body type: Skinny, perhaps a little underweight.
Skin tone: Olive skinned with a slight tan
Eye color: Brown
Hair color and typical style: Dark brown, almost black hair that she almost always leaves down.
Played By: Shay Mitchell
Special Markings (tattoos, piercings, scars, etc): She has a good few scars from her escape from New York. A couple on her legs and arms. She also has butterfly tattooed on the inside of her right wrist.
My Style: April was never really a follower of fashion even before all of this hell. She wore what she was comfortable in and she never wore something because someone told her too. Right now though, she wears what she can find, even if it is something she would never dream of wearing before all of this.
IT'S GOOD, Y'ALL
Likes:
• Sunbathing
• Swimming
• Apple pie
• Getting her own way
• Walking in the rain
Dislikes:
• Being cold
• Snow storms
• The countryside
• Being bored
• Sleeping rough
What was/is your characters dream/goals: Before the apocalypse, April had pretty much got her dreams. She was working in New York as an assistant editor of a magazine and she was in the running for editor. Now though, all she wants is to find some way of contacting home and finding out that her family are okay.
Fears: Ever since she was young, April’s been terrified of spiders. She was bitten by a non-venomous spider when she was five and has been scared of them ever since.
Its Who I Am
Describe your character’s personality: April has always been a very confident young woman who is very comfortable in herself and who she is. She knows exactly what she wants and she will do anything to get it. As a child, she was quite boyish and tended to play fight a lot with her brothers. But seven years at boarding school has changed her and she is now a polite young woman. She’s still quite outspoken but she has learned to respect people a lot more thanks to her time in school. She has always been quite a blunt person, even when she doesn’t mean the things she says. Sometimes, they just come out even if she doesn’t want them too.
She is very self-confident and is happy with the way she is. Her mother taught her to be very open minded from a young age and she respects all kinds of people no matter who they are or where they have come from. While she is not judgemental, she will rarely be the first one to start a conversation and she prefers to stick to her own friends rather than make new ones. She will often be nice to people if they are nice to her but it will take a lot for someone to actually befriend her. She is perhaps a little set in her ways and if she has an opinion on something she will not back down lightly. She has always had a tendency to get trapped in her own little world some of the time. She can be very distracted when her heart isn’t in something and it used to get her into a lot of trouble at school.
Strengths :
• Confident
• Caring
• Stays true to herself
• Outgoing
• Friendly
Weaknesses :
• Blunt
• Opinionated
• Distracted
• Outspoken
• Day dreamer
Habits:
• As much as she doesn’t want to admit it, April is a stress smoker. Her eldest brother used to smoke and she picked up on his habit in her younger years. She is by no means a regular smoker, but if she gets her hands on a pack then she will smoke a lot.
Flaws::
• Ever since she was young, April has had quite a short temper. If someone says something that she doesn’t like then she will snap quite quickly.
• On her way out of New York, she was attacked by a lone raider. She managed to escape but not before he’d dragged his knife across her neck. Now the cut has healed, she’s been left with a scar that runs from the middle of her neck to her ear.

Its A Gift
Skills and Abilities:
April has never been particularly skilled in anything. She can’t fire a gun or wield a knife or anything. So in a one on one fight against a walker, she’d be a goner. But when it comes to survival, she’s not all that bad. The one thing she is good at is cooking. She gets her cooking skills from her mother and can somehow manage to cook up something good from very little.
Perhaps another one of her skills is her ability to talk herself out of any situation. She prides herself on it and it has saved her life on countless occasions.
We Ain't In Kansas Anymore...
April Dubois is the only child born to Sebastian and Elizabeth Dubois in La Rochelle, France. April has two half-brothers from her father’s first marriage to Antoinette Monette-Dubois. Sebastian first met Antoinette Monette in 1971 when the pair began working in the same offices in Paris together. They married a year later and had their first son, Theo in 1973. A year after that, the second son Edmund was born in 1976 and life was relatively normal for the family. Sebastian worked in the stock market and Antoinette worked as a nurse in a local hospital.
It was on August 14th 1979 that Antoinette was involved in a car crash at the age of 27. She was taken to hospital in Paris where she received the best care that Sebastian could afford. But she received brain damage in the crash and passed away three weeks later despite the best efforts of the doctors. With his wife dead and two young children to look after, Sebastian went to La Rochelle to seek the help of his parents. He managed to find a job in a local shop where he met Elizabeth Ferland, a young woman who owned the shop Sebastian had found work in. At first, she became something of a nanny to the two boys and looked after them when Sebastian’s parents found they couldn’t. But over the years, Sebastian and Elizabeth became closer until Sebastian proposed and the two married in 1986. A year later, their daughter April was born.
Living with her two half-brother’s, April became quite a boyish young girl. She always used to play fight with her brothers and she used to pray that she could go to a high school like them and not a boarding school like her mother had told her she would go. Her early life was relatively normal. She grew up in La Rochelle mainly looked after by her mother while her brothers were at school and her father was back in his job in the stock exchange. She often helped her mother in the shop when she was young and she was well known in the town by most people.
She attended boarding school when she was eleven and at first, rejected the idea of the school. She had always wanted to go to a normal school thanks to all the stories her brothers had told her but she soon began to accept that that wasn’t going to happen. When she finally started to fit in at the school, she really began to thrive. She was never the cleverest or the most popular girl in school but she succeeded where she needed too and she had her own loyal group of friends. April managed to really fit in at school and graduated with very successful grades that lead her to apply and be accepted as an intern for a French newspaper.
April worked at the newspaper for almost two years working her way up until she qualified as a journalist. By this point, she was looking for something new and a new experience so she moved from the family home in La Rochelle to New York where she applied for a job as an assistant editor. She has worked there ever since. At least until the dead started rising and April was left alone after escaping New York with no knowledge of what happened to her family back in France.
