Special Markings : Rome has scars; don't we all? His Celtic style tattoo is massive, and covers his back, crawling up his neck on one side.
My Style: Rome wears whatever he can find. Jeans, tee-shirts, leather if he has to. He'd look scary in a Mr. Bubble tee if that's all he could find.

Likes:
Rain
Memories of his family
Finding the raiders that killed his family and making them suffer
Reese's Pieces
Breaking people's faces
Dislikes:
Memories of his family-- the bad ones.
Sleeping -- he always ALWAYS has the same reoccurring nightmare
Raiders
Wet Socks
People touching him
What was/is your characters dream/goals: Before the apocalypse Rome and his wife hoped to have another child. They were in the process of renovating an older style home. He wanted his family to have everything they'd ever wanted.
Now, he doesn't dream of anything but killing every single human monster that hurt his family.
Fears: Not finding those mother fuckers that killed his family
Its Who I Am
Describe your character’s personality:
Rome is has a quiet strength that seems to radiate off the tattooed man. He doesn't talk much, simply watches and takes in everything around him, usually planning an escape strategy while others socially interact around him. He could care less about being social. He needs friends like he needs another hole in his head. He just wants to survive long enough to exterminate some human monsters and then be done with it. He feels he has nothing else to live for besides that.
Stoic is a word that best describes him. Moody. You will never find this man smiling. He seems gruff and distant, and that is exactly how he wants it. If it keeps people at a distance, it works for him.
Please don't touch him or try to get close to him. Rome would rather keep useless emotions buried so he can get shit done.
Not that he is all evil inside. Oh no, not that at all. In fact, the man has been consumed by misery and so honestly, the distance? The killing? This is just what he does so that he can keep the pain at bay.
He is a lost and broken man inside to be sure.
Strengths :
He is physically powerful
Rome has learned to move swiftly and without notice
He has become quiet adept at tracking (humans) Raiders have a way of leaving a bread crumb trail of misery behind them
Roman compartmentalizes what has to be done so that things do not affect him ( ex: killing humans)
Weaknesses :
He is a broken man inside, and sometimes this can be debilitating
Rome cannot seem to form the social connections he needs in order to move safely with a group
He can not trust
In every face he sees, he sees that of the men that killed his family in front of him
Habits:
Rome drinks. It numbs the pain
He has the 'shoot first, ask questions' later mentality.
Roman assumes everyone is out to harm, kill him or stop him from trying to do what he needs to do
Flaws::
Roman acts the part of a cold, callous man. He pushes people away and at times, can be horrible in order to achieve that distance he wants
Rome was nearly fatally wounded by the people that killed his wife and son and still finds himself weakened by it
Its A Gift
Skills and Abilities:
Roman used to be a fighter, and so he is masterfully skilled at hand-to-hand combat as well as with melee weapons and blades.
He is brilliant and utterly calculating and can find a way out of most dangerous situations, if not just break right on through them.
He was a contract killer before, so he is rather knowledgeable about all sorts of nasty weapons, and yes, he can fire a gun with deadly accuracy
We Ain't In Kansas Anymore...
Before the apocalypse doesn’t really matter much, does it?
Let just say before all that went down Rome was an average Joe, working a nine-to-five and trying to support his wife Madeline and young son Aidan.
Sure there are poignant things about his past to mention, like before he met his wife Roman was a hoodlum, a criminal, and would make most of his money fighting underground illegal street fights rather than working for an honest living.
He stole from people. Beat up people if that’s what his ‘boss’ told him to do…a time or two even did worse than just beat the shit out of them.
Yes, the man was a hired killer for a time…but that is neither here nor there. In this world what you did before doesn’t matter. It’s what you do now.
He saw the woman that was meant to be his wife while working a job. He’d been watching a man that was trying to make a name for himself in the city, and Rome’s employer didn’t like that very much.
Madeline was on the arm of this ‘wanna-be-boss’, and it was only later did the contract killer find out she was not his date, but rather his young niece, showing her uncle around the city which she’d called home all her life.
Roman did not kill the ‘wanna-be’ that night. Rome told his employer that this was a job that they needed to take their time with. To wait for the perfect opportunity. Rome was good at what he did. His employer did not question him.
Eventually Rome did kill that man, but not before using the time he watched him to find out everything he could about Mattie.
The woman liked music and she liked ice cream. She did not like her uncle.
Madeline knew her uncle was an evil man. She had been warned by family. She did not cry at his loss but she did go to his funeral.
Pretending to be connected with the dead man in some way, Rome met his wife that day.
They were inseparable ever since.
Roman learned to live on the straight and narrow. He had to in order to fit into the life of his beautiful, innocent woman.
He got a job at the docks loading ships, and fell so deeply in love with her it was all he could do to walk straight sometimes.
They married two years later (her family was old school) and a year after that they had their first child, naming him Aidan.
Rome was so content with his wife and son and even his new job, his old life was nothing but a faded memory. He was no longer that man. He was a good man. A man that lived to make his family happy.
The TS-19 virus struck them just like everyone else; unaware.
Rome and Mattie had been fixing up their first home and planning a younger sibling for their son.
When hell broke loose they holed up in the large home, thinking like most people, the military would swoop in and help them.
Help never came, but eventually, a group of survivors that called themselves ‘raiders’ came, taking what they could from people with no disregard for life or possession.
Rome would have protected his family with his life. In fact, he tried to.
When the men finally got into his home Roman fought off as many as he could, but ultimately was restrained, beaten, and shot. They thought he was dead.
He wasn’t dead. Roman was merely paralyzed. He could only watch as his wife and son were assaulted and then murdered in front of him before they ransacked the house for some measly supplies.
The wound did not kill Roman. He slept for a few days, unable to wake from the nightmarish repeat of the murder while his body rested.
When he finally did open his eyes it took him a few days still before he could actually move from that spot. The spot where he had watched the murder.
When he did move, it was with purpose. He was going to find those men and he was going to make them pay. His family was gone. His life was gone. That was the only thing that mattered.
Moving himself slowly to the hospital and avoiding raiders and walkers alike, Rome patched himself up as best as he could and now he just travels, following the trail of bread crumbs the raiders have left behind for him.
