IN A BROKEN MIRROR
Height: 5’8
Body type: Skinny, slightly underweight
Skin tone: Pale, almost never tans
Eye color: Blue
Hair color and typical style: Bright red, usually left long down her back
Played By: Sophie Turner
Special Markings (tattoos, piercings, scars, etc): None in particular
My Style: Grace is very fashionable, or at least, she tries to be in the current circumstance. She tries her best, but sometimes she doesn’t really like the way she is forced to dress. She doesn’t really dress impractically. She wouldn’t dream of wearing heels to go out walking around the city, for example, but she tries to imprint a bit of herself into everything she wears. What was/is your characters dream/goals: Grace’s dreams are rather unique really. She has always wanted to be an Olympic athlete from the moment she watched the Olympics on TV when she was a child. She has been taking archery lessons from childhood and still believes that the world will be back to normal some day and she will be able to carry out her dream.
Its Who I Am
Describe your character’s personality: Grace has always known what she wants out of life. She is strong willed and determined and she will work towards something if she wants it. Though when she concentrates, she has a tendency to get a bit distracted and ignores things going on around her. She could perhaps be seen by some as a bit rude, but she doesn’t mean anything bad by it, she just can’t help it. She is very calm, and doesn’t really get angry at a lot of things, but she doesn’t really work well under pressure if there is a horde of walkers coming her way. She has a tendency to freeze up in these situations and prefers to take on one walker than a horde any day.
She is a very caring individual who loves looking after people. Even at her young age, she is very motherly, and would look after anyone if they asked for her help. She is very trusting, perhaps a little too much so, but she is good natured and has a very good heart. She would never want to do wrong by anyone and she tries hard to impress others when she has the chance.
Strengths :
- Strong willed
- Intelligent
- Logical
- Good natured
- Calm
Weaknesses :
- Doesn’t work well under pressure
- Perhaps too laid back
- Distracted
- Too trusting
- Tends to space out
Habits: She tends to mess with the feathers on one of her arrows when she is nervous. And she tends to bite her lip when she is concentrating.
Flaws:: She gets very distracted sometimes when her mind is elsewhere and she tends to blank out everything.
She has a large scar down her back that she gained trying to get the gun to shoot her parents. She backed up through a glass window to escape getting bit.
Its A Gift
Skills and Abilities:
The only real skill Grace has is from her archery lessons as a child. When New York was overrun, she managed to steal supplies from her local archery club. She is a fairly good shot having taken lessons since she was 6 years old. She tends to falter a little if she is nervous or scared, but generally she is a very good archer. She isn’t very well trained in any sort of survival techniques and that is the reason she is yet to leave the confines of her home. Though perhaps not a real skill as such, she is also a rather good runner, having been fairly into running before the outbreak. She is better at sprinting than long distance though.
We Ain't In Kansas Anymore...
Grace had a fairly normal life really growing up. It was never one of those lives to write home about or anything. She was born to Jane and Matthew on the 14th May 1993 and is one of twins. She is five minutes older than her non-identical sister Charity. They were always close as children, and seemed to share the same interests for most of their lives. They were both fairly good students, were part of lots of clubs, got into slight trouble at times but never anything bad. Their lives were normal and perhaps bordering on perfect.
Grace started archery lessons at the age of six and it was perhaps the only thing that differed between her and her sister. She favored archery over her sister’s past time of horse riding. Grace always wanted to make the US team for the Olympics when she was old enough and she trained hard in order to get there. It was only when the outbreak happened that her life really changed. She was forced out of her perfect life when the cities were the first to fall. Grace and her family hid in their apartment in Manhattan, stocking up on what they could during their trips down into the city.
Charity was the first to go missing. On one of their regular trips, Grace and Charity got separated as a walker mob came out of no where. Grace managed to get back to the apartment and when she composed herself and went back, her sister was gone. It devastated her more that she didn’t actually know what had happened to Charity, and it pained her to think that her sister could be out there as a walker. But there was nothing she could do, and she was forced to move on faster than she would have liked and keep surviving.
Her mother was the next to go, bitten when a stray walker managed to find its way into the apartment block. For a time, Jane Higgins-Hart hid what had happened from her husband and remaining daughter, and only told them when she realized she was dripping blood on the carpet. Matthew shot his wife in the stomach, not understanding that it had to be the head if he didn’t want her to come back. And as he held her in his arms, she turned and bit her husband. Grace shot them both at the same time, a single bullet through both of their heads.
She buried them in the gardens behind the apartment and took the time to break into the archery club to get herself a bow and as many arrows as she could carry. She is currently staying in the apartment alone, only leaving when she needs too. She doesn’t really know what to do with herself at the moment without her family there.
