IT'S ALL GOOD Y'ALL
Likes: Living in a world with limited rules, Independence, she used to like spending nights by the fire with her brother, reading if the time calls for it, having her own life fated by her own actions. Dislikes: Killing uninfected humans, Witnessing or partaking in the killing of animals, Manipulation, Settling down, Large groups of people (at first). What was/is your characters dream/goals:She used to dream of being the very person her mother inspired her to be, instead of serving drinks at minimum wage to drunks she wanted to pursue the role of being a nurse. Sadly the virus shut down the dream and left her with one primary goal, survive while protecting the ones she loves. Fears: Drowning, Confining spaces, being forced by other survivors to do things beyond her comfort zone, finding out that her brother definitely lost his life, Becoming one of the dead, that the new rules within the world leaves her taking an innocent life.
IT'S WHO I AM
Describe your character’s personality:She used to be fun loving and optimistic until the untimely death of her mother left her shaped to survive by using defense mechanisms, her sarcasm was the number one shield but she was private and less hopeful. Thankfully the deep bond between her and her brother pulled her from the slowly oncoming depression. However regaining the majority of personality traits that identified her as Annabelle (Hope in the world, a deep and protective love for her family, Determined to attain her goals, a survivor even before the virus) she gained a few more that inevitably prepared her for the gruesome future she was so unaware of(Being an extremely private person, preferring to deal with emotional problems by pulling away and keeping to herself, being defensive when people attempted to delve into her deepest secrets, keeping to herself rather than socializing, throwing herself into endless hikes and gym sessions to numb the pain)
When the virus broke out the presence of her brother by her side kept her sane and for the most part, the same person she used to be. But with time and the separation of the only person who knew her better than she knew herself she started to change. To survive in the gruesome reality she found herself in she had to mold herself to be a survivor, against the undead and the living. She became solitary, she distrusted the majority of survivors after a group of criminals assaulted her and left her for dead, she became determined and focused, she became stronger both mentally and physically, she became the best version of herself that left her able to survive on her own. Strengths : Extremely determined, loyal to the end (to the ones she cares about), able to make the necessary sacrifices, a fighter till the end, weapons training by her father when she was younger. Weaknesses : Killing children, Fear of drowning, Sometimes reckless when emotional, difficulty to trust others, distancing herself.
Habits:Used to drink a lot, bites her nails when she's nervous, digging her nails into her palms in extreme anger.
Flaws: : She would do anything to see her brother again, even put herself into the line of fire. Holding on to a hope that probably died a long time ago. Physically-She broke her left arm a few months before the virus overtook the world and has reduced strength, sometimes failing to fight off walkers if her other arms if occupied.
IT'S A GIFT
Skills and Abilities:
Annabelle's father used to be a marine determined that his children were fit to survive in any future before them and thus trained her to use an abundance of guns and knives. However when he died on duty she left it to herself and her skills weren't as trained anymore but thankfully muscle memory left her able to defend herself. She's a fantastic writer and singer. She loved camping which left her knowledgeable to survive in nature when she found no other shelter. She can easily determine whether a person is trustworthy or not. When the time calls for it she's quiet and fast and can easily refill her supplies without making too much of a scene. Thankfully for her mother's occupation she can fix minor wounds and ailments with the right supplies.
WE AIN'T IN KANSAS ANYMORE
Character History--At least 3 good paragraphs -- Annabelle used to have a loving, caring and absolutely dream worthy childhood. Her mother was a nurse, leaving her with dreams and goals to be just like the woman who raised her. When she was sixteen her mother died because of breath cancer leaving her and her brother in the care of her father, and while he was on duty they stayed with their calm, relaxed aunt. When her father found time to come home he trained them to be soldiers, so they could survive any turning point in their future. However strict he possibly was he was a wonderful man and an even greater father, leaving both Annabelle and her brother Lance deeply sad by his passing while on duty.
When Lance became of age Annabelle moved in with her brother into a small, comfortable apartment while finding a good job at a close by bar. She didn't take crap from anyone which left her conveniently able to dodge the eager grasps of drunks and idiots. her brother pursued his dream of being a mechanic and started a business with one of his close friends. Annabelle spent her time working and spending time with Lance until a useless accident with a ladder left her left arm broken and home on sick leave for a few days. That was until she decided that sitting around wasn't doing anything good to her thus left to work even if she wasn't supposed to. One day Lance called her urgently telling her to lock the doors and only open if it was him, scared and shocked she did as he asked hearing reports on the TV and radio about a virus that claimed an abundance of lives.
Lance quickly orientated her sister on the cruel reality and together they loaded their supplies into the back of his old mustang car, carefully moving towards Atlanta. For a while they got severely sidetracked and after a massive lightning storm found shelter inside an old home on the outskirts of a random town. But a hoard found them, unable to keep the undead outside or themselves safe from their relentless attacks Lance sacrificed himself. He lead the hoard from the house without second thought, fighting with Annabelle as she hid herself with great difficulty inside a small confined closet until the storm blew over and dawn breathed new life into her. Lance promised he'd come back but after a few weeks of waiting until nothing happened she found her hope lost and destroyed.
Before she left however another group found her, the men found humor in abusing her while trying to force her into something horrible. The fighter inside her broke free and she was left with blood on her hands as she desperately ran from the house. She had nothing left but a large knife and her backpack with three cans of beans, a bottle of water and sentimental objects. Lance was either lost or gone. She chose to keep hope that he possibly could survive and one day they would run into themselves. On that day she lost her trust in others, she tried her best to stay away from groups and found that the limits she could go to for survival were great. She was alone but she was fine, for the time being.
BAD HORROR MOVIES ARE THE WORST
Annabelle had been traveling for days with limited resources, she finally found a vacant house with three walkers she easily took out. The house was filthy with dust and smelled of decay, an old couple opting out and blowing their brains across the ugly wall papers. Annabelle chose to settle in the dining room, where the large mahogany table was thrown over and left a large space for her to evaluate her stance. She had one can of food left, half a bottle of water, one clip with six bullets that probably wouldn't get her far, a large knife engraved with a stranger's initials and one clean bandage.
"Perfect" she muttered sarcastically to herself stuffing the contents back into the worn leather backpack with a sigh. Her fingers unintentionally rubbed against the tender cut at her side, after outrunning a small hoard of walkers two days ago she cut herself on the old wreckage of a car. But to be fair that was the least of her worries. Since the initial goal was to reach Atlanta, alive and in one piece she assumed that her brother (if alive) would follow the same path she inevitably dashed on. Slowly she pushed herself off the ground, slipped the backpack over her shoulder and took one last look at the empty house. She slowly walked towards the front door, pushing the book case away with all her strength and slipping her fingers gently around the old knob.
"Cant hide forever" she chuckled humorlessly pushing against the door, welcoming the morning sun with a hopeless smile. One walked slowly lifted it's rotting nose to smell her presence as it stumbled over the lawn to taste her flesh, but Annabelle was no longer afraid. She was a survivor and she was going to make it to Atlanta, whatever it took.
